How Jesluv School collects, uses and protects your data and your child's data, and how to request access or deletion.
Who we are
Jesluv School is the data controller for personal data collected through this website, our admission and contact forms, and the parent portal. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
- Jesluv School, a nursery and primary school
- 1 Ajoke Kasomo Close, Off Idowu Adeniji Street, Abule Egba, Lagos State, Nigeria
- Phone: +234 803 471 5362
- Email: hello@jesluv.ng
What we collect
We only collect what we need for the purpose stated.
- Admission form: your child's name, date of birth and the class applied for; your name, relationship to the child, phone, email and home address; optionally the previous school and how you heard about us.
- Contact form: your name, email, optionally your phone number, and your message.
- Parent portal (enrolled families): your account details, your child's attendance, results and school messages, and invoices and payment records.
- Technical data: the IP address a form was sent from, used only to block abuse.
Card details are entered on Paystack's payment page. We never see or store your full card number.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- Assessing an application: your consent, given as the child's parent or legal guardian when you submit the form.
- Educating an enrolled child, reporting progress and billing fees: performance of our agreement with you, and legal obligations on schools to keep pupil records.
- Answering enquiries and keeping our forms secure: our legitimate interests.
Children's data
Our forms are for parents and legal guardians only. We do not knowingly accept personal data submitted by a child. Before an application is sent, the adult submitting it must confirm they are the child's parent or legal guardian and consent to us processing the child's details. We never use children's data for marketing.
How long we keep it
- Applications that are declined or withdrawn: deleted 12 months after the decision.
- Contact enquiries: deleted 12 months after they are answered or closed.
- IP addresses recorded with a form: cleared after 30 days.
- Records of enrolled pupils: kept for as long as school record-keeping rules require.
Your rights and how to request deletion
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data or your child's data, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, or to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.
To make a request, email hello@jesluv.ng with the subject "Data request" and include your application or enquiry reference if you have one. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and portal access is limited to the staff and guardians who need it. Sensitive actions such as payments require you to sign in again. No system is perfectly secure: if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the regulator as the NDPA requires.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we will also tell enrolled families.
